Youths vow to deliver 90 per cent votes to APC, Tinubu

As the 2023 general elections gather momentum, a youth-based group sympathetic to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Youth Peer-to-Peer (P2P), has vowed to mobilise and deliver 90 per cent of the total vote cast in the State to the candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.

The group made the vow at the launch of the second phase of its Campaign for the presidential candidate of the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima in Lagos.

While speaking at the campaign tagged “the desire for the rebirth of Nigeria”, Chairman, Stephen Akinruli said during the second phase, the group will reach out to various stakeholders within and outside the Party with the message of hope and rebirth of the greatness inherent in the Tinubu and Senator Shettima presidency.

According to him, the group, through its campaign will project the potential of their Principals as President and Vice President to garner more votes than ever in the history of Nigeria come 2023.

He, therefore, charged the Lagos State Chapter of the group to work with the leadership of the APC in the State and all other stakeholders to ensure total victory for the party at the polls.

The National Youth leader of the APC, Dayo Israel congratulated the youths for identifying with the APC to ensure victory for the party’s Candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Israel, who was represented by his Acting Chief of Staff, Adekunle Adebanjo, said the party and its candidates recognise the role of young people in nation building and have developed manifestoes to ensure that the youths benefit from its project and programmes.

He said: “I commend the group for its passion for youth emancipation through capacity building and socio-economic mobilisation.
“Our party, the APC and its candidates recognise the role of young people in nation building and have developed manifestoes to ensure that the youths benefit from its project and programmes.

“This motivated the party to send me and some other members abroad to study their Youth development models.

“I am assuring you of a seamless working relationship between the office of the National Youth Leader of the party and all support groups, especially those with youth mobilisation as its major focus.”

Earlier in his remarks, Director General of the group, Comrade Ismaeel Odulana said the P2P, which began as a youth development initiative, has provided support for indigent youths across the nation since 2014.

“The young people are the target of our strategic campaign and as the saying goes, charity begins at home, our aim is to improve the voting population in Lagos to a minimum of 80 per cent through massive orientation and enlightenment of the electorate and also ensure that the APC score nothing less than 90 per cent of the vote cast in Lagos State.

“Our support for Tinubu is informed by the group’s collective experience in Lagos and other APC controlled States where Youth engagement and participation has greatly improved governance and service delivery.”

The Director of projects and programmes, Bamidele Ojo expressed gratitude to the APC National Youth Leader for his constant support to the group, while he enumerated the various programmes planned in its bid to ensure the victory of all the APC candidates at the forthcoming elections.

The newly appointed coordinator of the Group in Lagos State, Mr. Toyosi Bello was decorated with the campaign second phase uniform of the P2P for the 2023 elections.
